BATTLE RATS (1988)
Directed by Benjamin Bridjes
Starring Jack Gilbert, Corwyn Sperry

Terrifying, bloody, suspenseful, brutal, ultra-explosive commando actioner from the Philippines! The American army forms a special squad of "rats" to fight the Vietcongs that use underground tunnels as their hideouts. Their leader is Yian Drom, a sadistic commander. Following their special training, they enter the deadly tunnels to exterminate the communists. An over-the-top viewing experience featuring non-stop violence, gunfights, explosions, yelling and cursing! Nobody is spared here, not even children, not even old people! Still a surprisingly solid and well-plotted film. Our fine-looking print is gloriously uncut and contains all the gore! Do not miss BATTLE RATS!

Non-stop action starring Andrew Stevens of 10 TO MIDNIGHT fame. Guest appearance by Mike Monty who seems to be in every action film shot in the Philippines. DEATHHEAD VIRGIN, THE (1974)
Directed by Norman Foster
Starring Jock Gaynor, Larry Ward

The maker of a few 60s BATMAN episodes directs this Filipino horror film! Two sunken ship scavengers find an ancient Spanish galleon deep down in Davy Jones' locker and unshackle a skeleton there. This becomes the Deathhead Virgin: a local virgin princess, kidnapped by raiding Spanish pirates centuries earlier, and raped by 12 of them! To make up for this soiling of her pure body to her god she must kill 12 virgins. She does this by possessing one of the scavengers. Exploitation fans will be delighted by the number of Filipino females in scanty swimwear, nude and/or wet. Also, there is (real) cockfighting and spear fu! Our fine-looking print is uncut, containing all the tropical debauchery of the DEATHHEAD VIRGIN!

DOUBLE EDGE (1986)
Directed by John Lloyd
Starring Romano Kristoff, Jim Gaines

Filipino action cinema king Romano Kristoff returns as another hardboiled cop in DOUBLE EDGE. Even from the very first moments you can tell this is a shameless COBRA rip-off with Kristoff stealing the famous "You have the right to remain silent" line and then blowing up a gas station to kill a bunch of drug-crazed, robbing, raping, murderous scumbags! Besides desperately trying to be the new Marion Cobretti, he is also a ninja, using brutal methods to fight crime. An absolute essential for every self-respected trash cinema fan, DOUBLE EDGE is an obscure classic from the golden era of Filipino action! Do not miss our gorgeous-looking, fully uncut Japanese import which includes all the over the top violence!

GET THE TERRORIST (1987)
Directed by Dominic Elmo Smith
Starring Craig Alan, Judy Green

More Filipino commando mayhem starring Craig Alan, known mostly for starring in COMMANDER. Surprisingly, the budget here is decent so you can expect a well-made film with plenty of gun-fighting action and many impressive explosions. The plot is the typical "commandos VS communist terrorists" nonsense but the outcome is more than enjoyable.

TOUGH COP (1987)
Directed by Dominic Elmo Smith
Starring Romano Kristoff, Jimmy Bridges

Beautiful, uncut print of this rare Filipino-produced film shot in the US. Romano Kristoff is Nick Carpenter, a former Vietnam vet who uses brutal methods to fight crime. Along with his black partner (who likes to...meow!- yes, MEOW!) he goes after Fat Cat (the late Kenneth Peerless of PHANTOM RAIDERS), a ruthless drug lord. When the fat guy kidnaps Carpenter's girlfriend, Nick puts on his commando outfit once again and gets ready for some serious action! TOUGH COP cleverly switches from cop film to explosive actioner, having shades of MIAMI VICE, COMMANDO and MISSING IN ACTION! Damn, there is even a brief appearance by a ninja! If you enjoy eastern films that desperately try to look American ending up being ultra-cheesy you must try this! They just don't make them so trashy anymore! From the maker of GET THE TERRORIST.

VENGEANCE SQUAD (198?)
Directed by Jett C. Espiritu
Starring James Gaines, Ronnie Paterson

Really obscure commando action from Philippines, not listed in the imdb or anywhere else I looked. The budget here is really low but the action is non-stop and overall this is a highly enjoyable film. I really admire those third-world guys for making great exploitation on a zero budget! Not to mention bloody! Nice funky disco score. Highly recommended to hunters of third-world rarities!

WAR WITHOUT END (1986)
Directed by Teddy Page
Starring James Gaines, Robert Mason

MISSING IN ACTION meets RAMBO FIRST BLOOD part 2 in another obscure Filipino actioner! The action hardly ever stops and when it does you get the expected bad acting, bad dubbing and hilarious lines. The film is also desperately trying to look American- there is a general's office which has pictures of Ronal Reagan everywhere! Filipino action regulars Jim Gaines (ROBOWAR) and Mike Monty star- not that it would be too hard to guess. The are lots of impressive explosions, non-stop gunfights and a custom machine-gun that puts BLASTFIGHTER's weapon to shame! Just like in RAMBO 2, there's an attraction between the American commando and the Asian girl and there's also the ending where the betrayed American hero returns to base to avenge his superiors! Need we say more?

WILD CATS ATTACK! (198?)
Directed by Francis Posadas
Starring Anthony Alonzo, Conrad Poe,

Ultra-obscure Filipino commando action film made in the early 80s (exact year of production is unknown because the film is not listed in any movie database). There is hardly any plot here but whatever there is deals with a red book which is stolen from the communist terrorists. The book contains a detailed list of the names of every member of the organization. A soldier risks his life in order to reclaim vital documents. The rest of the movie is packed with endless battles, gunfights, huge explosions and gore. This is one of the rarest and wildest Filipino actioners and shouldn't be missed by any fan of the genre!
